Hm. I'm suggesting that there be some kind of reward system for staying active on the forum.
Example: X Number of posts grants you X number of reward points that you can use to buy items in-game.
This would encourage people to talk more on the forum and for everyone to get to know each other.
Spam wouldn't be allowed, of course.

yes indeed people should get rewards but not for posting on forums
people could just spam....

so i think would get at least 1 request for an event for joining forums and
and get 100-1k nx for posting at least 5 times a day. [as you can see not much nx]

Well, if the moderators of the forum find out that they are spamming everywhere just for points, they would just warn+penalize them and lock their posting ability for a period of time. If they continue to spam, then they would just get banned.

I agree it's going to be really troublesome to implement. :l
But perhaps if this system was to be executed, credit could be given to players who give constructive suggestions that may help the server grow, or just any player who contributes to the server through the forums.

this idea is kinda impossible...
unless you wanna switch forums so tyler can make forums connected to the server
but then you guys might not be forum moderator because its tylers forums then.. o-o

I didn't really think of it as a large-scale kinda project.
I was thinking along the same line as getting a reward for posting on the forums, except you only reward those who post constructive comments and not just spam post.
IMO, it shouldn't be too hard to do. Forum mods can validate if the comment is constructive/ beneficial to the server in any way, and rewards of say, 1k NX could be given to their characters in game by GMs.

But meanwhile, the forums and the game is a little too bone-dry to execute this idea anyway.

If we got a VBulletin forum everybody's post count is in one place, and I'm pretty sure you can get to post counts on these forums too, whoever made the forums just has to look closer. It wouldn't be that hard to give rewards for being on the forum but I don't think it's needed right now. There was only 3 players online and I banned one of them for hacking soo.... LF>larger community

And also, it's not impossible in the least, it would just have to be GM/forum Mod discretion to decide who gets the points and the in game GM's can go add w/e it is to their account. The forums don't have to be connected to the database, and the points don't have to be automatic.
It isn't a bad idea to reward for helpful posts

^ Was really what I was implying.
Though I don't think creditting for post count would be feasible, since the forums has a spam section where members are allowed to double, triple, quadruple post. I'm still supporting the idea of creditting NX/ other rewards to players who contribute.
